ABOUT US

ICFA is non-profit organization whose main goal is helping families in need around the world

WHO ARE WE?

The International Centre for Family Advancement (ICFA) was established in 2008 and headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria. The branch office, located in Nairobi, Kenya was opened in

The primary mission of ICFA is to create sustainable projects aimed at empowering women and girls living below the poverty line. The organization focuses on providing opportunities through empowerment initiatives that seek to enhance the lives of these individuals and their families. By addressing the challenges faced by women and girls, ICFA aims to foster positive change within communities.

WHAT WE DO!

Specifically, our participation is in these key areas: Free Health Project: Fostering for Depressed FamiliesWe have actively participated in the Free Health Project, which focuses on supporting depressed families. https://www.facebook.com/internationalcentre.familyadvancement/videos/187779803319549/

From 2020 to 2022, our organization successfully implemented free health programs in collaboration with the IEC/BCC workgroup of the Lagos State Aids Control Agency (LSACA). This initiative aimed to provide essential health services and mental health support to affected families.

This outreach project was initiated during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide free healthcare, food, and shelter for displaced families in the Epe (Nigeria) and Jivanjee Gardens, of Starehe area in Nairobi Kenya. In addition to basic needs like food and shelter, it offers pre-health consultations and free medical treatment, particularly targeting victims of economic crises marked by starvation, poor living conditions, political instability, and lack of access to adequate healthcare.

In 2023, the Organization has decided to broaden its operations by expanding our healthcare delivery Project (The “Fostering for Displaced Families” Project), which is now named the Community-Driven Telehealth and Supply Chain Network (CTS-Net) Provision of Free Education Project: Take Time Project and Total Recall of High School Dropouts

Our organization has also been involved in providing free education through initiatives such as the “Take Time Project.” This project is designed to re-engage high school dropouts and offer them educational opportunities that can help them reintegrate into the academic system or pursue alternative pathways for personal and professional development.

Free Vocational Skills Acquisition Training: L.I.V.E. Empowerment Program We offer free vocational skills acquisition training specifically targeted at girls and young mothers within the community. This program, known as LI.V.E, aims to equip participants with practical skills that enhance their employability and empower them economically.

Feed the Street Kids Project Additionally, we run projects aimed at improving the lives of families living on the streets. The “Feed the Street Kids” initiative focuses on providing food and basic necessities to street children, helping them achieve a better quality of life and ultimately assisting them in transitioning away from street life.
